“D” Up

Here’s a recent study showing that low-levels of vitamin D can cause weight gain.  Hmm, here’s a novel idea, go outside for a walk, jog, bike ride, something and get some vitamin D and a little movement in your life and kill two birds with one stone.

Of course, you don’t need much time in the sun at this time of year to get the amount of vitamin D needed, but you can benefit from the additional activities so stay well hydrated, bring water with you and protect yourself from over heating.

A quick note on Vitamin D: The body synthesizes the amount it needs when exposed to the sun while taking Vitamin D in supplement form is not so it may be a good idea to stop supplementing with extra D during the month’s you have strong sun exposure.
